Benefits
– Many of the modern laptops come with big and bulky 17.3 inch displays but this model has a more reasonable 15.6 inch screen making for a laptop that is more mobile friendly than your typical gaming rig
– The hybrid hard drive setup gives you both a fast performing SSD drive and a large SATA drive so you get the best of both technologies
– The Intel Core i5 processor that is included is a great way to get something a little bit more affordable than the Intel Core i7 but without a huge drop off in performance
– It includes a backlit keyboard which is a great extra feature to have on any laptop no matter if for gaming or just general use
Downsides
– Battery life is far from average on this with it being able to only provide up to 3 hours on a single charge
– While the 15.6 inch screen does make it more mobile friendly than your typical gaming laptop it still weighs 2.5 KG making it heavy compared to non gaming type laptops
– With only a basic amount of memory at 8 GB performance could have been improved by including 16 GB
Verdict
The Asus ROG Strix ZX553VD-DM640T doesn’t have all of the same high end specifications you will find in some of the ROG’s more expensive offerings but it still has enough to power most games easily and will be a little bit easier on the wallet.
