Benefits
With many families owning multiple devices such as laptops, tablets or smartphones it doesn’t always make sense to put large amounts of money into a single device and instead own multiple lower cost devices that each have their own advantages. With the low price point of the Asus Chromebook C300SA-FN017 it is a great option as a second or even third laptop for around the house to make everybody happy.
It doesn’t have to be a home only laptop option though as this device is also very portable with its smaller then average 13.3 inch display design. This laptop only weighs 1.2 Kg and is very slim at just 2.2 cm. Even better when it comes to on the go use it can give you an incredible 15 hours of battery life on a single charge meaning you will spend less time looking for a power source and more time actually using your device while away from home.
Downsides
One thing that the Asus Chromebook C300SA-FN017 is really lacking is high end performance like you can receive out of a more expensive Windows option as it has a lower end Celeron processor along with just 2 GB of memory. Luckily in its defense Chrome OS doesn’t require the same amount of resources to provide equal performance compared to a Windows machine so this isn’t quite as big of a deal as it may look at first glance.
Another downside to a Chromebook is its lack of local storage as Google tries to push users to using alternative storage such as Google Drive which is a way for you to store all your files online. For those who prefer to save everything locally with just 32 GB of eMMC storage it won’t take you long to fill up the space.
Verdict
The Asus Chromebook C300SA-FN017 is a very affordable option and great for those looking for an alternative to Windows or just a low cost everyday second laptop to have around the house.
