This is a surprisingly nice Hewlett Packard laptop for the price you will pay for it. You wouldn’t want to use it to play PC games but it will work nicely for you for a wide variety of both work and home computing tasks. Its graphics and sound are way above average for its price point and its processing speed is more than acceptable too.
It’s not full of standout features but it has good battery life, excellent Wi-Fi capability and can even be Bluetooth® connected.

Benefits
- The graphics package and display are very nice on this laptop. Its combination of 15.6” WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) display and Integrated AMD Radeon™ R5 Graphics make for nice viewing.
- It offers fairly good response times considering its limited amount of RAM. The AMD Dual-Core A9-9420 processor is more than adequate for the computer tasks this laptop is designed to be used for.
- For a basic laptop the sound on this computer is very good. It features built-in dual stereo speakers.
- The battery life with the 4-cell lithium ion battery found on this laptop is above average. You should get 7-10 hours of battery life before with this HP laptop before you need to recharge.
Downsides
- The RAM memory on this machine is a little disappointing. It comes with 4MB RAM which is ok but it easily has room for 4MB more and that would better match its good processing speed.
- HP also chose to forego more memory to keep costs down and use a faster data processing SSD drive. If you like to save photos, movies or lots of work data you will need an external storage device.
- Although it’s not super-heavy or overly bulky, you would probably still not want to choose this laptop if you need to take yours with you everywhere you go.
Verdict
We really like this laptop from Hewlett Packard. Although you can use it to stream movies and stay connected you can do so much more with it too. As a matter of fact, if you add 4MB of RAM and buy an external hard drive it becomes a near perfect mid-range model laptop at an exceptional price.
