Dell has been releasing many of their new 2017 laptop models this January and one of the latest is the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 H8YXT. This model is a 15.6 inch device that is packed with an AMD processor instead of the ever popular Intel lineup. One of the advantages of going with AMD over Intel is the price as AMD tends to be slightly cheaper while still packing similar benefits as what you find in Intel. Below we are going to look at this device a little closer and see what some of the benefits and downsides are to help you decide if this laptop is right for you.

Specs

Processor: AMD A9

Memory: 8 GB of RAM

Storage: 1 TB SATA

Screen: 15.6 Inches

OS: Windows 10

Benefits

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 H8YXT is a solid addition to the Inspiron lineup of laptops while also being quite affordable. It is very easy to start pricing a new purchase and quickly get yourself pushing 1000 Euro or more but this model can be had for a fraction of the price which for users on a budget is a big plus.

Just because this laptop is affordable doesn’t mean you have to completely give up on performance if purchasing it. The AMD A9 processor along with 8 GB of memory gives this device plenty of power to easily handle the average users workload. Unless you consider yourself a high end power user you should have no issues with what this laptop can provide for power.

Many of the new laptops are starting to push consumers towards the web for their storage needs but this isn’t always the best solution for everybody. Some consumers have concerns about putting confidential data online while others just don’t have the internet speed to make this a viable option. Luckily you don’t need to think to much about this if choosing this model as it comes with a very large a spacious 1 TB SATA drive meaning you will probably have more space then you will every fill up.

Downsides

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 H8YXT is still a decently mobile option for those on the go but not surprisingly fails to match up with some of the more expense options. With 7 hours of battery life you won’t be scrambling for a power source too often but getting the full day out of a single charge is going to be difficult. Also at 2.3 Kg it isn’t light as a feather but still reasonable for taking on road trips or back and forth to class.

Verdict

Your not going to find much that will wow you on the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 H8YXT but at the same time it is a well balanced laptop for those needing a few things such as full sized display, decent performance and plenty of internal storage.
